Rachel de Leon is a journalist and videographer. She received her bachelor's from California State University, Northridge in 2011. She has experience in documentary film making, local news production, and public affairs.
Rachel will be receiving her master's in journalism in May 2014 from the Graduate School of Journalism, UC Berkeley. She spent the last nine months reporting on government at Richmond Confidential, a hyperlocal in Richmond, Calif. She reported on Measure N-- more colloquially known as the "soda tax"-- and was debriefed on the subject multiple times by KQED, an NPR-affiliated station in the Bay Area. She covered the local city council race as well, and used Google Fusion Tables to produce voter turnout maps examining where the winners received their support.
